Visiting Earth on a Guest Pass

I'm in the process of polishing every serious poem I've ever written....and yes, for a reason.

Suddenly this morning I just want to share this one. I originally posted it a year and a half ago, under the title, Corona Of The Sea. I may make more changes, but here's how it is at this moment.

Corona Calm

The sea today is not sea
it is mirage, lake flat,
the jetty almost flaccid,
its rockiness pointless
in a little bath of fog

Beyond the cove and on
until it blends into space,
a message in calligraphy
of variegated blue,
azure lines on cobalt
for eyes to read that can

The palm stand bent, silent
as if a shore breeze
still urged them to sway
from sending their
sun seeking prayers up
into the coldwarm air

Out between the palms
and waveless water
seven seabirds pace a hawk,
diving by turns while he,
unperturbed, glides on

A scene that does indeed feel peaceful.  Makes me want to be there, like I was for a minute while reading your poem.  Maybe I'll just read your poem again, instead.

You have the ability to transport your readers from their worlds into yours ~ and the trips are always memorable.

Why does a poem so serene leave me cheering? *S* Can't help it... a big hurrah for the reason behind the polishing... and another for sharing this beauty again. *S*

Your images are so incredible... I've only to read and I'm there... That's a special gift, my friend... thank you for taking us to such beauty. *S*
