Wrapped as she was in the wrinkled folds
Of sheets pulled from tucks of sky
once neat with straight lines smoothed
to please the eyes of those who glanced
toward the blue or lay in some repose of dream

she did not know I saw the way she swelled
below the throat of white
into a softness that pleaded to be desired
or that the curve of legs she sometimes stood upon
was a hint of reveal at the edges of ruffled grey

I slept late the day
For she hid the suns rise and haunted too
The sound of dreams spent searching
For the touch of you

so pulled round my own naked form
The scent of wet bark and bleeding grass
Remembering the times when I might have risen
And walked along familiar paths
Letting the soak of her wash away my own grey

When she poured herself again upon the earth
I found my own thirst to drink of her grow
Then woke to late gloom and strode bare across the room
To press my nose against clear panes
Runneled by the offerings of her form
To become semi opaque eyes I could not blink
Now focused to define an outline I might trace
Gently on my soul

As this in storm I stood

Wanting the hands of you to trace along my spine
Letters that told of us and begged of time
A few more beats of heart
A modicum of respite at best

I felt you move through wide-eyed dreams
And knew someplace too you stood

And thought of rain

What great images! I love this one.  I could see it all, and have seen it all.

This late in the day,
brings the sheets back to cover
limbs, and dreams...

but still the grey is there,
and the rain
pending...

somewhere close, this touches,
whether it be you,
or me...
I remember.

Have I thanked you lately
for casting inspiration?

Beauty doesn't seem to serve this work of art justice...I have no words for the incredibility of this write...but I am going back to read again...this takes the reader in, and tells an entire movie...bittersweet, painful, yet, most understanding...exceptionally well done!

And as she looked out on the rain were her thoughts shared and filled with memory...The vision you paint is powerful and alive...*hugs*

and this is how I want ALL men to think of me...alright, maybe not all, but dang, I can dream right?

Lovely words.  You make the girls swoon and they pretend that your words are for them.

It's a gift.

And thought of rain

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

I had to come back for another read, maybe it's just my mood today, but this brought tears to my heart...I wish, all of us, including me, would remember others life this, firstly instead of being so self imposed at times...we tend to take for granted what is most important to us, and...what means the most...those little smiles of gratitude are great big circus posters....hugs
