my need for
Your grace and mercy
draws me higher
and higher
my will to be in Your presence
enormous enough
for me to want to
make it so
but just when my feet
would wish to leave this earth
my departure is stayed
intentions to fly
solidify with love
and understanding-
a small warm hand
slipped upward
fills the space
between my outstretched
hands

yes...it is sometimes not for our own self we stay and that we are strong.. but for the small ones..

I have SO been there. The hard part is that the hand doesn't necessarily make us want to stay any more, just makes us know that we should.
