Landscapes Of The Night
~*Marge Tindal*~

The hour is late …
it’s always late
when an insomniac reaches for word brushes
to capture the landscapes of the night~

Begin again …
search within
for the word-palette that holds
the vivid colors of this night~

Candled quietly…
chilly words come closer
to the flame of warmth
waiting for the thaw~

They are drawn ever near
to this slip of time
that cradles me in abeyance of sleep~

Night cannot hide
the multi-colored landscapes
so, she shares them with me
to share with others~

The light that strikes
the morning wall of me …
finds me dazed, mesmerized,
lacking the rest to sustain me
for any other fulfillment than this
once more to await the landscapes
the landscapes of the night~

~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost,
the spirit rejoices over what it has left.
- Sufi epigram <))><

I do so enjoy the landscapes of the night ~ but they come with a price! ~ the lack of sleep!

I just had an epiphany! If I read all of your poems that vividly depict landscapes of the night, I could read and enjoy them during my waking hours and then I'd be able to sleep at night! lol

Soft, ethereal and captivating!
