{From my Journals of Endless Winter;
Mixtures of Thought Different Pages}

~~**~~
The river has disappeared
beyond the bend

my paint brush    was
wet with anticipation

but how do I paint
the taste of rain and orchids  (or)
the bold of your back
          in-fingertip softness

I speckle the paper
with co
lor
one then another

start with the   sunrise,
orange against blue
start with sunset,
purple against gold

~ ~
In my memories we are always October's hues
a cathedral in the ruined city,        the perfect sky
of arch and ash

light lost in the horizon

I am alone with this
silent water

I am still & all-stillness

pressed against   stone;        all grey
stretched over river

the skin, the drop of water
near the edge

it is still daytime:

and I search for lines in dead grass
a path to you until I can hold

the sky in my hands
~~**~~

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

Oh Lauren, I started to copy lines and it got WAY out of control.  (Will leave that to Jan okay?)  You dear lady are truly a treat for sore eyes, and make time spent on the internet a worthwhile thing.

Gorgeous!

Bravisimo!  Que hermosa!  I loved your poem, indeed.  I saw the portrait of eternal love right before my eyes with this one.

A favorite poet of mine once asked "how do hold a bird in the palm of your hand?"

The answer was "become the sky."

(I prolly got that wrong, but your last line reminded me of that.)

grace as always

Serinity,  I think you said it well and
the poem...well, Lauren,  I found this
most intriguing.  All of the colors and
how they became something so real and
sensitive.

Lauren, m'dear:

you have just created that which you doubt in your very first stanzas.
