I really feel so stupid
Why did I do that?
Handing over my happiness
On a silver plate

I might be over-hopeful
Imagining the outcome
But still I agonise over
My giving up the trump

I know I am a loser
Wrong in every sense
How could I compete with her?
She is my good friend

Putting things in perspective
It all seems so right
Then why do I feel a dull ache
My heart is pulling tight

Maybe I should go to bed
Tomorrow will be fine
I could look for help somewhere
Seeking words of divine

No, you weren't "stupid" ~ perhaps over-generous, but there is no crime in that!

~ and you most definitely are not a "loser"!

It sounds as thought you are going through a difficult time right now. May the sun come out for you tomorrow!

Loving, comforting hug,
EA

guy trouble?

doing the right thing doesn't mean that it won't be an emotional toll. guess that's why moral dilemmas are so difficult.

anyway, you can't label yourself a loser even if you chose to err. we all have a right to attain our own happiness. sounds competitive but if you choose to fight, you are giving the guy vital information to make a well-informed decision

easier said than done though. hee

Mon Chérie, this hurts, but it was right to give your heart the chance if there was a sort of "competition".
You have rendered your sentiments beautifully, you touched me.
But never ever think that you are a loser. Such a thing does not exist. Even those who might appear to be exclusively winners, sometimes lose. It's life. We learn.
And it's a good thing to sleep over it.

Love and light.

It seems that you do have to offer it
if you really mean to give it away
and you have take the risk of getting burned.

Hope the pain eases soon.
