Sensation-pulse, gears-
Join at allotted spots,
Enmesh, align
The axel of the world
Of constants, spins

As freely comes the rains of spring,
That act as like a bearings grease.

Cooling and truing
The whirring cogs,
Inside the great machine,

And all at once, things ice
On land become
The fiddle heads of Christmas ferns,
And waving skirts, of columbines...

On the river, mayflies

Float, that lived out former lives
As flawed as lurking monsters,
Under water, under ice-

Ugly, sunken things
That now become terrestrial,
Ascending beautiful,
Losing their gripping claws...

Glowing fairies now alight, rising
From the husks of former beasts,

The pale evening dun,
Dressed in creamy-yellow
Up-emerges,
Floats, its wings,
Sail-boat lovely-
Pretty, ephemeral thing
Whose only thought
Is of its lover,
With no romantic dinner dreams...

One meal of sex-
Then death, because
It has no ways or means
To sup...

But yet
On wheels of happiness it rides;

For its spirit knows
It cannot stop
The great Machine of time.

BRAVO! Ford, take a bow!

I'm keeping this beautiful write, with such vivid imagery, I can see them.

You took the beast of her...
and made all beautiful.

How can we not do anything
but keep a marvel
such as this?

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

And, such a short brief night they have...
This is wonderful writing Ford.
Very much enjoyed the read.

Nature in your words is honored.

Beautiful.

Love this one too.
Just as beautiful as the first time I read it.
