So came she then
To strip the leaving from my limbs
And write upon the loam where roots reside
Letters still I can not read

The sky is blue
yet she hides beyond the rise
Of flat plain before the thigh of land
She waits to rage again
To drench this my land in pyrotechnic blends
That shear the sky in broken lines
To twist the wind
Bring from dreams my strewn clothes
That I stand not naked flesh against the storm
She laughs easily and knows
Conquered fools will stick rods in sand
To melt what lies within the boundaries
Of worlds stilled into a paragraph
Semaphored of rain or rage

I grow old

But weak eyes can see past the veil
Of slumbered minds and pale lost moon
   To where it all began
A story then to be shorn of cotton clouds
Forming there along the rhyme of fronts within

Sleeping soul

She draws me still and in
To wish for more of drenching days
Spent in laze of wet smells wrapped on skin
While rumbling low and deep begins
The thunder of her soul
Turning loose the reign of sky
Letting go along the sigh of scattered clouds

    When storms subside

I look for you
                           Each time it rains

Thank you Sir for this summer keeper.

again, a very appropriate read for me today.

When the sun shines as it did today, I feel like it is mocking me.

I believe it's impossible for you to write a bad poem Cap.

I need a book of you.

I sent my letters
hidden in the gray foam
of skies in tears
and then poured forth my
melancholy mood ~ my berating
temperament only sounded
thunderous, for the moment...

but then I hailed repent
scattering my bones, broken...

knowing, not knowing, who was listening...

Oh, God, I'm glad

                         it was you.

Makes me sad and reflect on what used to be.
You have such a gift and write with such pure emotion, Cpat.

I was watching the Eagles in concert, (on TV) in Melbourne Australia last night.
I had to get a grip when they started playing "Desperado"

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
You been out ridin’ fences for so long now
Oh, you’re a hard one
I know that you got your reasons

It may be rainin’, but there’s a rainbow above you

I know I'm rambling, but it's a nice thought to go with your poem.

Well done Sir, as always~

Ron.....loved your poem!

Buildings all nudge and stucco bright
Beware the flight of wind
Come night descending wings
A kite without tether
Tangles in the wires of my road
And brings the lightening
To my soul’s abode

Reaching for my sagacity
Inborn I am my own storm

What Karen said...

on rainy days I actually feel some sort of relief as if I can put down the mask.

even the cold rain feels good.

She can be found
in the soft sweet smell
of Earth.

The soil is moist and grainy,
almost as sand
slipping through an hourglass.

The days of time of days . . .

Kneel down in the dirt, man.

Push your fingers deep
into the heart of her.
Bring forth her essence
and lie your body, prone
upon her own
allowing the rainfall
to kiss you clean.

if one studied each and ever word and image, one could still not glean and take the talent with which you write, for every poem is uniquely YOU...
beautiful work my friend

I know this search.....

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.
