I carried it with me for years,
almost dreading even the notion....
What would I do,    if ..

when..

a child should ever become
a part of my life?
God, how the thought frightened me...

Me.  A mother?
How could I dare bring a child
into this world not ever having
had an example to learn by..
to fill me with motherly
   tendencies..

I had not known
that touch
     that love,
       that guidance

fear gripped me....

then the gift of you
was bestowed upon me
and years of uncertainty

of doubt...

with a single brush of
fingers curled in mine
instantly disapeared

and I knew a mothers love
was within me

all of the time...

I really want to care,
I want to feel something,
let me dig a little deeper
nah, still nothing~
my give a DAMN is busted. Jodee

That single touch when we first lay eyes on our precious little ones is the cycle of life starting all over.   After that we bloom and grow forever, together.

There is such a lovely tenderness in your words, Donna.
Thank you for this.

Experience teaches us
that we will never
know it all...

but mothers seem to feel
the tug of child
just a little deeper...
and a lot longer...

of course, I know PiP has some
exceptional dads that will argue with me
on that point,
but agree wholeheartedly...

that this is a

Donna

The rocking rhythm of a mother holding a child, is inborn!  But, you know that now.

Hi, Donna!  I know exactly what you're talking about.  I was scared to death to even hold a baby until I had my first.  Great write.   ......jo

I'll never forget how above all the other baby's crys in the hospital nursery, (when they woke me in the middle of the night for his first feeding) I picked out my Daniel's cry as i was walking toward the nursery. And yup, I was right. 'tis the best thing in the world, Motherhood.

Love this Bella, you know that already.. but wanted to tell you again.

Absolutely precious.
