~*~

Intoxicated
by the scent of jasmine that clung to the veranda
mixing our breath
in the lamplight that gave me away.

Enhancing the glow
and anticipation
that fell on closed eyelids
slowing the rhythm of silence moving.

And in the splendor of it all
was a sense of grandeur and intimate ensembles
that dazzles the moment and makes it sparkle.
To reach for the stars and be lifted by a lover's embrace.

Cradled in the new moons crescent,
and yes, I could have danced all night.
For in your kiss
there was enough passion to light up a city.

If you only knew
how I relished the view
and every breath that we breathed
that took us over the top.

~*~

Lori

I'm happy for the happiness that Ron saw, for I see it too in you, in this poem.

Gee thanks everybody.   I was just trying to break out of my blue mode.

Truth is, my memories linger long, and that's a good thing, I think.

About time I changed my tune, so while I was at it
I figured I'd change into something comfortable.

Thank you all for your nice replies.

Yup, can't take the passion out of your lovely heart and delightful soul. How I long for you to find it again.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
