This union she perceived
to be unbearable but yet, year after year remained
thus weighted.

She tried to weep it under the rug but
the lump was so ludicrous she could not
lie her way around it.

She dropped her anguish
from on high
to drown it in her deepening tears
but too late remembered
it was tied ring finger round.

When the last air bubble rose out of sight
she finally embraced acquiesce…
and yes, I know, befriending
at this point seems barely logical, but then
who ever said that she was
thinking clearly.

When the tears receded she looked up;
the trees framed in blue waved welcome and so
being a writer of words she did the next logical thing-
she picked up a pen and wrote
a poem about it.

That is always a problem.

Very well done.
