just about where I want to be

0 posted 2005-05-28 09:40 PM

It is with a heavy heart
I set my loved one free
Free to choose his next true love
Without my boundaries

The walls fell down
Our love torn apart
With his words of anger
He broke my loving heart

In the beginning
He was strong hearted and kind
My inexperience with things
Has put our marriage in a bind

Days went by
Gosh, they were great
Now it seems it is all my fault
He begins to show his hate

If true love is eternal
And stands the test of time
Someday he'll come back to me
Then his heart will be mine

Oh, peaceful days
Where have you gone?
While I pray for your quick return
Our lives must go on.

There is no harm in letting someone go...they won't leave anyway if they're where  they want to be...and hopefully good things will happen for you...James

Melancholic, beautiful write. In the "letting go" lies your safety and peace.

Meanwhile you live, yes.

Love, Margherita

True love is letting go if need be. We have to let our children grow and are proud when they are able to go on and live their lives. It should be the same with lovers, husbands or boyfriends or girlfriends..Same applies. I was told once by a very wise landlord to "give him enough rope". We were young marrieds and my husband was always going to ball games, hockey games, bowling, and movies with his friends. As I knew and liked his friends I said nothing but was home alone a lot.I took my landlords advice and all worked out in the end. best marty jo.

true hurt is letting go...
true love is when they come back.

at least that's my experience with the thing.

letting go is never as easy as it sounds it's gonna be, so i wish you courage and strength.
as for your verse... it's not your fault.
it's a two-way street.
and i agree with shadows... this really does ache.

we are what we seek

Thanks evryone. Everything is fine, marriage  wise. I wrote this poem in dedication to my dad. He still loves my mom very much, and would like to start over with her, but she won't. He just can't seem to take no for an answer. Thanks for the replies.

Enjoyed this very tender write from your caring heart...Paul

Perhaps one day all will be fine between them. Maybe they just need too try being friends first. Tell your Dad too put on his courting face.
