Blindness cloaks the dawn’s shimmer,
awaiting the rise of yet another day,
one filled with toils and trials, aches
and humility.   Toils of the heart that
touch the withered hand and feel the
softness of a young smile...a rose
beneath rolling blue seas..

Clouds wash the skin,   watering the
emerald lawn, bathing youth in
a moment of wisdom...a time when
listening heard the rustle of leaves,
when the breeze shivered the silken
mask of a curtain, lazily prancing
with an unseen partner.

Will a child see beyond the
elderly mask....learning that
another child waits...aching to once
again fly that magic kite.  Wishing
upon a single star to dance lightly
into the night...and sing softly,
ever softly.....a lullaby for two.

Barry, there are children who do see behind the aged mask and they are the ones who want to play with the inner child in us that they can sense and see and feel.

A person with the soul of a true poet, never really grows old. Their eyes may dim in time, but the spirit can stay young and see into forever!

You are one fine Poet Man who has an adorable little boy living within!

Magnus~

'a time when
listening heard the rustle of leaves'

This is LOVELY ... and reminds me of the time I make to spend 'shush of time' with my grandie girlies~

When I see them 'looking' into my eyes as I tell them a 'when ~Poet~ was little' story ... I KNOW that they see the youth of me ... and I smile~
