Goes against the grain
be as flamboyant as one can
reduces to character analysis
what people expect

What people expect
opposed to what they do
two different things
against the grain

A wider tie than in vogue
under caped apparel of a rogue
what balcony viewers soon suspect
societal demands later reject

A new day comes
the grain is well worn
character is exuded
beyond expectations

so the lapel gains a rose
shoes are spit polished
an image shines in the light
different from 'supposed to be'

laugh and they laugh with you
cry about doing what they expect
cry alone.
