A Poet's Touch
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Please touch me tender in that place,
Where dwells the spirit of I.
That spot it be, the heart of me,
Where poetry makes me sigh.

Poets touch not the flesh of I,
Yet I’m deeply stirred within.
The words that spill from pen and quill,
Soften life’s noise and din.

I view life thru’ their soulful eyes,
With every page I read,
They share what they have gleaned from life,
~ Each word is a newborn seed.

So apt. So tender. Yes I think that is why we all come to read and share. Thank you, I appreciate all you write.

(smiles) Oh, Linda, indeed every word is, and your friendly words always plant friendship seeds in my garden and bloom all kinds of pretty flowers I don't even recognize! (giggles) Yay, here's some crayola friendship seeds you can plant in your garden, which help cast rainbow fairy prisms across your garden, yay, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Hi, Helen! I'm glad that you liked that line! Just after I posted the poem, I went back in and edited that line and changed it from "precious" seed to "newborn" seed. You are the second reader to quote it so I am pleased that I changed it! lol

It was good to hear from you, Sweetness!
