In Your Poetic Mind

I inhale

while my mouth searches for
fire in the warmth of your
skin

I pray I find rain
that these words will speak
to your heart
soft against each place
held in Octobers light
each tender of spirit

that I might find you still
in the touch of my pressed palms
whispering to my soul
be not the stranger of my heart
reduced to such ember

but remember how I danced
to please your eyes

that I have breathed
each shadow and root
hidden from night

of you, my amber

if I should find
that warmth

may I dance again
and let the essence of love
become me

and leave me to sleep
between the hands of night
~~**~~

GIMD just because

I came from the mountain
The crust of creation
My whole situtaion-made from clay to stone

The quality of mercy is not strained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. . . .--Willie S.

you always write beautifully...

There is a warmth and richness to your poem that is befitting for an “amber” feel.   A lovely write.

I'm responding with tears in my eyes because this one really touched me.  There are alot of poems I like here and alot of poets, but there aren't many that can bring an actual tear to my eye.  Thank you so much for sharing, it is wonderful!
