Clockwork, these wet muscles
tic over the marigold haunch
of the March lyon, lying
in atrophy over its golden thresholds
of desolation, starved

for a mandolin heart,
in the overburdened artery
of the patient body,
as it burns an idol of red clay
holds the momentary anatomy

of my resonance, feverish
under a writ, a commitment
soaked in lamb's blood, bathes
the soul's abundant rivers
over the heart's redemptive brocade

as it drinks its light solely
from the heavy hands you offer

to bind my wounds into your bones
of red coal, swelling its serum
between elbows and knees, wet
and quivering these red, red tendons
spread their delirium, rabid

through the savage veins, you reign
to guide me through the labyrinth
of love's first, tremulous petals, held
in your hands like a lambskin of prayer,
and layered in the red, latent earth,

your body fills mine
with the deep,
devastating hum
of the river's song,
and so becomes my sole dwelling.

"of my resonance, feverish

soaked in lamb's blood, bathes
the soul's abundant rivers
over the heart's redemptive brocade"  Oh my!

Now you know that is not fair to whet a whistle and run don't you?  What a beautiful, beautiful portrait told this was.  I can't say it enough Mari, the images you paint are in a league all their own.  Simply exquisite work.  Glad I was first on this, just sat down

shaking my head

I cannot honestly say I understand this, but it does leave me feeling like, I have just spied upon some ancient ritual, in some dark catacomb that houses the graves of the holy orders.

Are you contagious?

*smile*

I would hope so, and would be blessed for the inspiration.

Enjoyed.

She danced, alfight
barefoot and naked
beneath the silver scythe,
pouring, screeching
her life's blood
running from her eyes,
pouting from her lips,
falling down her thighs -
only to pool at her feet;
baked like the sand -
the dirt of day.

And she danced, naked
beneath the hot desert sun,
and her sister moonchild.

Each watching their creation,

create.

I have missed you, Mari.
