Distant Drums
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+
Distant drums in primal beating,
Rousing passions of long ago,
Stirrings from forgotten history,
Haunting dreams of sling and bow.

In dark of night, my soul is restless,
Memories lost, roll in revue,
The rising haze of misty veils,
Where lives, once lived, stream through.

Healing herbs and starlight crystals,
Breath of smoke to cleanse the soul,
Spirit warrior, brave, and shaman,
Are calling me from long ago...

One of my favorite things Linda, is listening quietly while the ancient spirits speak..

Very much enjoyed this sweetie.

Lovely Lee ~

It pleases me that you got into the rhythm of this poem. I tried to get it to read like the beating of native drumming.

I think there is a bit of the Indian Native in each of us!

Mr. T. ~

When you are gone, YOU will be one of the spirits that speaks to those still on the Earthly plane!
