Standing so forlorn
gruff gnarly's broken spirit
shows upon his face.
In the distance faint but clear
sound of chain saws drawing near.

Karen, Donna, Karilea & Lee~
Thank you for responding.  This beautiful old tree stands in a Provincial Park near here..and believe me they would have to go through me in order to cut my favourite tree down!
Geesh..I'm a fiesty old broad. LOL.

Thank goodness you are a fiesty 'old broad.' Here in the Lakes Region of NH, the population growth is tremendous and so many trees are being cut down. It makes me sick and I have tried to fright the 2 new homes in my neighborhood; sadly, without success.

A beautiful tree with saving words.

Hugs, Marti

Such a deft touch in painting this pix.  I've a few trees like this in my neighborhood and I love everyone of them.  Well said.  Hugs Ken

Marti~I have a feeling you would be standing right there beside me to save this or any other tree.  Thank you lovely lady.

Ken~You are so fortunate to live around trees with such character. Can you imagine all that they have seen, and heard!
Hugs to you too.

INclan~I love a cosy fire as much as you..as long as it is not old gnarly here.   Hugs.

Such character in this wonderful tree.  Your words create drama here.  I hope this weathered and craggy tree is safe.  Well done Tinker!!

Jimmy~Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read and reply.  I'm so pleased you see an old Indian face on the tree..I see it too.  Hugs.

Paul~Thank you for always being there, reading and replying..it is SO much appreciated.  Hugs coming your way.

Scorpio~I know you are a nature lover as well.  Therefore I thought you would see the character in this old tree.  I think I just might adopt it as my very own.     Hugs and luv.

Kathleen~I am so pleased you read this and found enjoyment from the picture and words.
Heart hugs to you.
