The Dance of Mimi….

Missy Mimosa,
Mimi to generated aunts
old Olive Arbor and Fernie Vitae…

who heard the squeal of

gleeed song in Mimi’s first bow of nightfall
from the first warm raze of spring’s wondrous sun…
as she danced to May’s gale of blowing winds
from southerly storms…

Ah Mimi!  See her, lifting her skirts in twirl of light
as the aunts bend over, hovering above the
Boys of Burning Bush….

who will not redden with embarrassed flush till
some falling of Mimi’s skirts…

Oh, let’s do watch Mimi dance,
hear some wind sing between
her dappling youth filled leaves…her life,
[she knows not her short time, some 20 years
to show, or so, before a fell of the axe…]
all she knows is she is rootbound, prairied,
yet she gleams tropical…

and she, long limbed, adolescent in lush, nah-nahhs
the sighing aunts…knowing she will soon acquire
nature’s pink hats of July and August…
and will bring about butterflies
to flit and woo…perhaps even…hummingbirds
to fill their bill…

she looks forward to the acknowledgement
of her beauty…

and all the while, she ignores
the Aunties Arbor and Vitae, who
shush and hush her lush green disco dance…

ah, Ms. Mimi…dance, little lady…
let the doughty old aunts break the snow’s fall
from your young limbs…

and switch well your pretty skirts
come every summer’s breeze…

Dance, Mimi, Dance…

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?  Keeping in mind, I must stand close...and keep my promises...

A spring dance to capture the green glory of the month of May.  Very well done Karilea.

Like my grand daughter would say..."Are you Happy?"  yeah babe, this made the day.

Terrific write poetess with nature's voice in her heart

I've noticed that trees all dance in different ways...I love the way you have choreographed Mimi!

Yes, a beautiful celebration, like Lee said!

The title spoke to me ... my children call me Mimi and of course I am a dancing Mimi!

So I felt this lovely piece in a very special way, dear Karilea.

Nature speaks to you and you transform the message in music.

Love, Margherita
