the unsaid
would be spoken
with the unbinding
of tongues

but such words,
they may not be uttered
within this synagogue of men
as I bow before their God’s
hewn in unmovable stone
their psalms etched
in permanent groove
concrete in standing

I whisper their prayer sounds
and kneel in obeisance
as a good follower should
and all would be well
if only I could
truly believe
in their laws of acquiescence

s.a.t.

note- this has nothing to do with religion, and all to do about the rules of society made by man -

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

Sparkles, you have too much spunk, spirit, and intelligence to bend in obeisance to your fellow man! Acquiesce? ~ I think not! Stand strong, Susan! Both you and your pen are mightier than the sword!

It was good to read your thoughts once more! I have been missing your poetry and your omnipresence on these blue seas!

You are the mistress of your destiny!

Hugs with love,
Linda

exactly how it is sometimes....being independent and steadfast to ourselves is a sometimes lonely walk, and yet, Susan very very profitable. I was never one to play the game, as well...and prefer it that way.  Hugs to you, for this compelling and very honest write...takes courage my friend.

Mmmmmm - you are all most kind and what hearts you have - you bless me with your friendship -

Sometimes following the rules is done as a gesture of love for another - especially a child - so, we do so for we love them more than our own selfish wants -

I just love you all - you warm my heart - thank you -

And EA - if the darn words would spill, and the clock would allow me time, I'd be here more

Hugs - S
