Loving Mom was extra special this year.
Knowing she’s just a phone call away,
a walk in the door . . .
knowing she’s still here after all those years;
knowing,
just knowing,
is Almost enough – but not quite.

We lost Dad the other day.

A lot of years came to an end.
A lot of Knowing was buried with him.
A part of us will never be the same -
knowing he’s no longer just a phone call away,
a walk in the door,
knowing,
just knowing . . . is the Worst part of all.

So Loving Mom was truly special this year.
Loving Mom,
and Mom loving us . . .
in Person today.

....my Dad died Mardi Gras weekend – as easy as writing comes to me, this is the first time I’ve been able to put it on paper and it truly doesn’t say what I want – maybe later.

I loved him very much.
