With each turn of the wheel
the Potter carefully forms the clay...

But what merit in the vessel shall remain
if the clay forgets its beginning and its ending,
and supposing itself indispensable,
puffs up beyond usability;

if the clay thinks itself wise,
and contrary to the Creator’s foresight,
resists its shaping, trusting not in
His design;

or the clay supposes to become
its own master, exalting itself upward,
and thus reasons to rise strong and tall
above the wheel?

And who picks up the pieces if the clay
determines not the precise time
when the fire will not destroy,
but will instead produce a perfected work?

And what store shall be set to a container
that views with closed eyes
the necessity of the fire
in its entirety?

With each turn of the wheel
the Potter carefully completes
His creations.

Yes, God is indeed the Master Potter. Unfortunately I have come upon many a cracked pot!

Seriously speaking, this was a divinely fine piece of metaphoric writing and I very much enjoyed reading it!

Y'know?

Someone once sent me the story about
the cracked pot...and how, sometimes,
I was very much like that cracked pot.

At first, I was desolute...
until I read the rest of the story.

You see, the pot
couldn't hold water, or at least,
not all of the water, from the well
to the home...

it leaked.

It leaked life-giving water...and yet,
the farmer wouldn't buy his wife
a new pot.

Because he liked the flowers that grew
from the well to the house...

Sending
with lots of love, Karon.

Me, the other "K".

EA, thank you, it started out simple but just wouldn't sit still until it complicated itself

K...thank you...for putting into my thoughts another 'pottery creation' for who are we to say that 'cracked' is not just how we are supposed to be
*shakes her head* thank you again...I knew this one wasn't perfected, but with your comments, it grows closer
