Passing Through the Valley

I sometimes stare in that mirrored reflection of my ego.
There…
There it is again…
Just a glimpse of a look within,
muted, as a non-sustaining echo.

My own five shadows have turned,
and are, just now, moving toward antiquity,
and chafing the traces of living from a blue sky and
an emerald sea…

Humanity’s ghost: Touch, Taste, Sight, Hearing, Smell,
a perfect star of man’s earthly hell…
Purified, attained and honed into a five pointed star of senses…
Yet my mind, in youthfulness reflection, with my ego,
is at play…

Remembering championing the day…
Arrogantly, and with unassuming pay…
Sorrowful for the momentary madness…
In double-time;
where I then anxiously bypassed
the maestro’s instruments tuning.
Relaxed understanding,
and basked in the melody of my own sadness…

Living up life, buried to my neck in quicksand.

Innocent to the last shadow,
the valley of the shadow of death…
~ ~ ~
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
~Book of Joshua

JL..truly a remarkable insight of a writing.  I was mesmerized by each turn of the eye to the next line; and wondered at your breaks.  They are [let's see, another word for 'holy'] remarkable...

This, my friend, was a break inward, and the cavern of self is deep, but not menacing.  A rewarding search, where the gold of you is kept.

You should be pleased with this.  I am.

Thank you, Poet.

JL, Sunshine took the words right out of my mouth! ~ Actually, she said them better than I could have!

Yes, remarkable!

Dear JL, this was humbling, and brought tears, reflecting the importance and potential of humbling ourselves...reminding us in our naked state, there "is" nothing more...yes, remarkable and then some, thanks so much for this apt reminder of who we really are...yes, remarkable and then some!!!
