They come to me in riddles now
swathed in yesterdays longing-
bit
peices
shards
of memories, regrets, and lost dreams
none are without meaning
they just tend to confuse
and
further puzzle
this already depleted mind

My hands won't cooperate
and sometimes I'm just too busy
to stop
so that
I can honor the moment
and simply allow them to dance
onto paper

And in slumber
as I am supposed to be at rest
they rush in
like that of
the wonderous
Technicolor Dreamcoat

They invade my mind
tons of them
in no order or organization
just humps and jumbles
of mystifying disarray

I wake
bare feet on a cold floor
I sound like
A Christmas Past
wondering
toward
pen and paper

All in an attempt
to capture

these

words

That invade my mind

Choose to live, and love and all the in betweens.  Dry your eyes, and shelter your heart and let the pendulum swing.

I can relate so well to each and every word.
Could've highlighted the entire poem
in all it's "technicolor dreamcoat"

It is such a treat to read you again, good poetess~

Good Lord, tell me about it, I have more ideas when I am drifting off to sleep and it enrages me so because I always end up drifting off . . . maybe we are writing poetry elsewhere  *grin*
