Moved from a shack to a barn

We watched each other grow up, Mary and I
We were friends, well before we were more

Though, I can’t recall the moment she morphed
From all elbows and knees

I do remember the outcome

And slow-dancing

And how what was once, angular and awkward
Fit nicely into my hollows

How we were stirred by proximity

My hands, fanned across her backside
Her, pressing tight against my thigh

No one ever saw us dance, or knew of it
It was always just Mary and me

And I recall, ironically

Now that it’s no longer true
And wasn’t, even then, for Mary

We danced to the Rolling Stones
And “Time is on my side”

Ed...I remember dancing that way, but I don't remember with who...I think there were one or two.

I know this kind of slow dancing..
I am so pleased to see you continue the story of Mary...
and the memories you have of her.
Hugs for this.

Ed, it is good to see you writing all of these and sharing Mary with us.  Enjoyed this very much.

I have missed your stories, Eddie.

Time, I do believe, has always been on your side.

Please never forget that.

I always kid that irony is my mate and a dark Karma Goddess is my ever there companion...

one can only hope there is a better place.

it's in how its spent, short or long, that time matters. judging by the words of a man she spent time with, she did well for herself.

You brought back a memory that I hope will linger until I get home tonight...while it won't be as good as your dance, it will be nice to reflect on it...

and wonder at how it came out...

*sigh* his name was Chuck
we danced the tidepools at sunset,
watched the stars climb over the Pacific
