Austin, Texas

I fell in love with her this night.
She came to me.
I was deaf,
Coming out of surgery
And in quite a lot of pain.
But she wouldn't leave me alone.
She insisted that we talk, right now ...
She seemed to know the bleeding hemorrhage
Hidden deep inside my heart.
She opened it and let it bleed,
Opened it and helped me heal.
Too soon, she had to leave.
But left with me her spirit.
It was sad, and just as beautiful,
the way she turned me inside out.
And when at last the pain was over,
And the tears were finally dry,
I came to understand
that though she left she never left me,
That her presence lives beside me still,
That the archetypal lumination
Came from deep within my soul,
That, though I was deaf and blind,
I was more than just a man to her.
I fell in love with her this night,
and never came out of it again.
That is why, each year, this night,
I stop whatever I am doing,
I contemplate, revere and venerate
The beauty in every human soul.
Whether she intended to or not,
She somehow had unlocked me
And led me back to my Muse----
The Muse that lives in each of us.
And that is also why,
To make a long and humdrum tale much shorter,
The reason I began to write,
The reason that I cannot stop,
That's why I came
on to the subtle plain to tell you this,
albeit for one year,
and once upon a night.

Bless you, Karen!
Bless you!
Bless you!
Bless you!

SC

BTW:  I forgot to tell you.
One day she swooped through escaping with my trash.
How many "strangers" do you know who help you carry out your ... dirty ... ... ...
On the other hand, maybe it just smelled and somebody HAD to do SOMETHING heeee heeeeheeee

Trash? you have collected some trash? NO WAY! LOL. Laughing and crying simultaneously here, in understanding. Hugs to you, Jaime!
Someday, she will know.

Jaime, we only have one rule here at Passions, and that is, Sir, to issue a hanky alert when so required.  This was a "hanky alert" poem, Sir...

and please, never, ever stop writing!
