Dedication

Sometimes plug ins download hours
Hours, kept…like a hobby reaching out
Until they become voices
Of metaphorical passageways skipping with
Works in progress…
Topics of lesson plans,
Amplifying integrated comfort
Nature’s handouts
Warm moon flashes
Like a topographical Bohemian island
Baffling the reasonable mind
Armed with defeat, against winter’s villa
Until a beautiful song
Comes to rest here beside me

Flames lift my eyes to dream
Holding a lighthouse with glittering sun
Wandering around the power of spring
Like a poet hunter with harmonious theory
Open for criticism…the flute with symbolism
Am I the imagery amusement?
Leaping inside some interpretation of realism?
A muse’s memory after loosing sight?
A small fragment of characterization?
Eating every potential stand up flashback
From the soul of a king?

Passion drives me to a growing field
Pacing like an impatient celestial message
Handing me my heart, along with an assignment
Singing, “There’s only now!”
“There’s only now!”
Sitting there, sticking my neck out like a turtle
A tablecloth gives me tips on research
Smiling like a romantic shape,
Thousands of brands of shabby chic
Filled with humanity and a book on wildly
Populated decorating trends

It is then, the narrative pulls on my blouse
Like an impatient child reaching up,
With expectation, jumping up and down
Moaning the words
“Hold me?”

My mind becomes warmly embodied, while reaching
Down to pick up this free verse
This profound honesty and innocence
Thinking, “It’s nice to hold”

I think about the antiques sprinkled about
In this ordinary yet lavish Bed and Breakfast
Sitting on the porch of morning
While carving a side table with a drawer out of
White distressed wood…”nice touch” I think
“For an English cottage, on a sundial beach,
With candle sconces…

All of a sudden, the tiny hands of morning, writes
All over the sky,
Like a toddler writing on a wall with her favorite colors
“Welcome to My World!”
I smile thinking,
“Boy, would Rachel Ashwell love to patent this”
While that warm sun softly, whispers in my ear
With euphoric stares
“Ideas are light, love,
Intoxication is giving, and you
You smile me”….
