I have nothing to give you
that you do not already have,
that you have not already done,
that you have not already known,
that you can not already claim
in the hearts and minds of others.

I fall into your eyes
easily
as smoke pulled through a screen,
totally absorbed as particles dispersed
scattered through the universe of you,
and yet,
the eyes of the future are as faceted jet
alive,
opaque,
unfathomable,
the glitter surface
stops the eyes from penetrating within
where nothing is person,
in free expression
only the soul lets go the rope of sanity,
no tangible link bides our time
binds hearts.

Our love is moist fertile ground
when we can visit in a time of spring
yearning for seed,
churning with life,
urgent to yield,
yet seasons change without control;
cold winds run ahead of storms
and human will governs stranger turf.

I have lived beyond the yearning
for adventure to define
the harvest of my life,
the groves and grottos of my soul,
there are no dreams I can leave
that have not already formed
in your nights;
I have no agenda to sort
that you have not already seen,
there is no want of fuel to cut
from the coppice in the forests of my soul,
yet no role for me to play in scripts published
and long sealed.

You judge yourself too harshly.

"yet no role for me to play in scripts published
and long sealed."

I understand this, but it made me think about life being a story already written.  I like to think that there are many chances to edit along the way, even to write a different story.  You got me thinking, as usual.

As always, there is much in this that leaves a person pondering their own meaning to themselves and to others.

We are all flesh and bone.  We just have different talents.

I am very happy to know yours.

This just reached out to me, Iceman. As others have
said, you made me think, as always.
Hugs,

I have been looking for you.

If I could I would fly there just to wrap my arms around you and hug you.

You are loved, mr. C, whether you feel like you deserve it or not.

"yet no role for me to play in scripts published

not true
not true
as today, I needed to read you
and here you are
reminding me once again that it isn't all written out
we do have choices
we do have a say in who we are, where we go, who we choose to read and respond to each day

so, like a dancer in the wind, you never know where those thought breezes will end
and as time is of the essence,
I want to let you know, NOW...
I always gain an extra dose of humanity from reading you
(Thanks to Serenity, for that last comment )

You all are very kind.  I am having a little run of rough road.  I appreciate your thoughts more than you know.  Thank you.

Utterly fantastic.  I am in love with this poem and its loved lost message.  The sorrow and abandonment I feel from this poem is so strong.  I loved it.
