~*~

When the show no longer goes on
before the last curtain call
I told you so.
And in my telling of heart
I invaded your space.

Putting distance between
the simple concept
without human contact,
seems so little to give
and less to receive.

But uncertainty is no consequence to me
for life is a short sequence
featured film so to speak
and I am not ashamed.

My feelings are not indifferent
they are true to the words I write,
so if I cease to exist for you
I am better for them.

Life may be a stage,
another poem on a page
but compassion is not rehearsed
or a role to act out and memorize
even if the meaning is lost.

I will come away
when the end draws near
taking my place
without any misgivings
or regrets for my part.

they are true to the words I write,
so if I cease to exist for you
I am better for them."

Hi Lori,
A beautiful, heartfelt poem, as always.
I especially like these last verses.....

My feelings are not indifferent
they are true to the words I write,
so if I cease to exist for you
I am better for them.

Life may be a stage,
another poem on a page
but compassion is not rehearsed
or a role to act out and memorize
even if the meaning is lost.

I will come away
when the end draws near
taking my place
without any misgivings
or regrets for my part.

Hugs,
Ethel

Yes, indeed you are!!

Wonderful positive impact in your words, my friend.  Well done!!

If nothing else, I am famous for second guessing myself.  At the same time, it would be hard to find my peace if I didn't make my feelings known.  Most importantly, it's about not having any regrets, because I ain't taking that with me!!

Thank you for reading this, and for sharing your smiles with me today.
They go a long way, and mean so much~
