Noises intrude in the night
echoing in my head
turn on the fan
try to drown it all out

Toss, turn, tremble and ache
flip from side to side
gaze again at the clock

cars passing radios loud
someone works a drill
lights flashing- shadows twirl

Doors slamming just for me
don't they know?
six o'clock
comes far too soon

sounds like a night in the country would be good for you
though it isn't always quiet, the sounds are usually more pleasant, at least to these ears
music is my antidote to city noise, sometimes, even the rhythmic sound of clothes tumbling around in the dryer LOL
