Dusk was slowly falling on the other side of hell
Castle walls 50 foot gate like marble stood
Pristine in the falling Sun cool as life yet left
In the thickness and heft of the entrance
To a cleft of peace hope and bereft of thoughts
That drive

Reality now creeps in as the darkness of the dusk
creeps upon the Guard of days
Nightshift takes on a different glaze

Where is Peter question asked
Pilgrims due in at the last
Hell is letting a few escape
Closed has to be the marble gate

Bellowed questions to supplicants
Gates are closed at dusk
Voice echoes back
There's just a few of us

Sorry rules are rules
And we'd be turned to dust
If we open these old gates
Our jobs arn't worth enough

Down the hill
Into the town
Throwing Amex Cards
Platinum for tonight
Budget's going hard

See you in the morning
With all your sins gone
It doesn't matter what you did
But how you did it so long

Guard said to Guard
Peter wont like that
He isn't on the night shift
And the cards were his

So long
