.

As the shadows of evening
yawn and stretch
across open spaces
I feel for those souls
with the dim,
saddened faces
Their losses are not
just of family
and friends
But of honest pride,
loves' devotion,
and
promised ammends.
They can't see
the beauty
of a sunrise or
moon glow
Nor hear church bells
sing praises
for the blessings
I know.
So, as the shadows of evening
become one
soft blanket of dreams
I will pray
for their healing -
blithe redemption
in a
smile's self-esteem.

Nightshade,
This is exactly why I like reading your poetry!  You see.  You reach.  You extend.  You know where this is going, don't you?  Straight to my library!  Thank you for being you.

Well, back again!  It didn't go quite as straight to my library as I thought it would!  Check the box, miscee!
