I was on duty in Hell
When the late shift came in
Always guarding checking
We are careful on that shift

Hell is below
And on the late you get
Those escaping up
Showing you their chit

Peter's usually around
But the heat does get you down
And chits moulder in the heat
And dont ask me about my seat

Still another hour to go
Coal delivery sinking low
All the thanks I get for this
Was an offer of 10 minutes bliss

I really enjoyed this - a peek into a moment and a feeling - well done -

Susan

If I wander far enough, long enough, will I finally know . . .

Wow.  Powerful.  Hell's a ride that no one wants to go on...unfortunately, there's a long line to the top.  I was touched by this poem.

a playful write for such a sore subject!  I noticed the supply of coal is low.  Sure hope it runs out soon...
