And The Meek Shall…

The red robin rants and raves
Unable to lore the larva from its lair
While the smile of the sun beams amusingly
And the trees that swayed silently in slumber, awake curiously
Disturbing the honeybees that now hover over honeysuckles hungrily;
But indifferent to this moment are the screams of silence
And from the skies descends a speeding hawk,
“Dang this red mark!” shrieks the red robin attempting to escape,
But mistimed humor and misplaced hunger dooms our feathered friend
As the onlookers turn away out of pity and then disinterest.

But deep within the earth, the ground muffles a chuckle
Where within its cozy lair, the larva laughs and laughs.
