in the shadows

What draw is this
that raises me up,
like a slip of life
shed from primal roots,
torn in the night
like a spring time reed,
from the death of sleep
where I replay my trials
face my own judge,
where I recognize
only troths I keep?

There is no season
for memory,
it escapes too easily
through windows of sleep
as I wander the world,
yearning to be free,
while wisps of thread
tether my soul
to its ancient keep,
this broken body
called again and again
to grind against
the bedrock of time,
while the sound
the Earth makes
is moaning.

supply and demand.

My role has always been one of a messenger.  The demand is so that most times I don't even know I am making a delivery.

what we do is important on a level we may never fully understand.

Enough talk of things that others will never understand.  (for me at least...you write more, please).

I have had many similar nights lately when I could have been sleeping.

Please dont ever become like the Cousins in Dickens who travelled far, laughed more than anyone and drank everything they could find

I prefer your "wordly wise" view of life

Great words
