The Day's Take

Could it be the fever that brings me
to thoughts of you and the heat of bodies
pressing the want or is it just revenge
seeking to punish me for tempting fate.

I dream of the strength of hands
that can ease the tension,
and field my mind, patching the emptiness
to quicken my breath as the warm waters
pass over me and I rise in greet.

I sit in the warmth of the sun to heal,
closing my eyes to the sounds of life
and offer myself in thought, no rhythm or rhyme,
just peace and tranquility, probably
for the first time in a very long time
challenging my mood to devote a smile to the day.

I am fed by the depths of feelings
that I find in the lyrics, releasing emotions,
removing the chill that held me in its grasp
trying to bury me the night before.

I have covered the mirrors...
and am loving the day.

M

Beautifully penned M, glad to read you again, such a touching message in this about ones self.

You write well when you are ill.

Then again,

you write well when you are not ill.

loving the day is important
but uncover the mirrors and smile M
it's a beautiful one to look at

Yes Maureen...take the covers off the mirrors...
and I hope you get rid of the fever soon.
Hugs.
