My Phantoms

I have not found the common ground
Nor have I found that common sound
All I see are fireflies that
Twinkle in the night time skies

They flicker where I least expect
A genuflect without connect
And light a corner of the cave
The smallest corner of my crave

They do not form a link of light
A star to guide me in the night
They only promise that I may
Find my goal of soul some day

One cannot live on promised food
Nor keep us warm when stripped and nude
Yet fireflies that light the night
Are to me a common sight

Yet still I cannot hear the sound
Nor bring the light to light the ground

oh me thinks this moth is gonna have to respectfully disagree with your closing couplet...youve lit up my life more than a time or two...me thinks your dragonfly IS a dandy Randy firefly.

I have not found the common ground

I found it...and I been digging in it all weekend...LOL Still doing the landscaping at the house...today is GERANIUM day...LOL

Morning Sy....
Well you sure light up a lot of lives around pipland!
Loved your morning rhyme...
Time for tea?  I'll pour.
~Morning hugs, Nancy~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

Good morning, Mr. T.!

Well, one thing is for sure, if I were standing stripped and nude, I'd be thankful if it was only the light of a firefly that was shining upon me!

Enjoyed this morning's sonnetic offering!

Have a glorious day!

oh yes you shine a light so bright
that puts joy in our hearts
        smiles on our faces
           and wonders of why
cant i find a heart and soul
         like yours in a man
            or just a good man
    your a star, shining bright~
        giving joy  and pure delight~

i use to collect fireflie and put
them in a jar when i lived
          back east.  miss them

My spirit will rise
above the sea~
There will be no drowning
of my soul or me~
