Went round to a mates place, just for a few cold beers
I was with my partner, his wife and kids were there
Usual things are happening, wife breaks out some snacks
We’re sitting on the porch, located out the back

They’ve got a little baby, not really very tall
In fact he cannot walk,,Barely even crawls
Just starting to get weaned,, trying out new food
Most he just is spitting out, but some he thinks is good

Slipped a bit of mango, down onto his tongue
From the instant smile we knew that it was YUM
Now a mango seed is huge,,, and still has lovely bits
So we sat him on the tiles,,, gave him one like this

Mango seeds are slippery, like holding mercury
Mango seed and Baby,,,, Such a sight to see
Co-ordination is not good, in a baby quite so young
Trying to get mango seed to meet up with its tongue

Little bits of mango are spreading on the floor
Babies face is spattered with spreading orange gore
Trying to control the seed,,, He needs to find a way
Watching babies mind at work to figure out this play

The seed is placed in desperation down between his legs
Now we see the bobbing and the weaving of his head
No,,, That’s never gonna work, lets try another plan
Mango seed now firmly gripped by tiny hands

Body now extended and lying on the floor
Slipping sliding everywhere in all the mango gore
Mango seed is gripped, tightly in both arms
Face is lowered sucking, leaching out its charms

A really happy baby with a grin from ear to ear
Ignoring everybody as if we were not there
Slurping and a sliding devoured that mango seed
Can tell you for a fact… Its what every baby needs
The Tree from that seed is now in Full Production in his back yard

As delightful a read for me, as it was a thrill for him.  Thanks Longte!

Mango's being my favorite I couldn't resist a peek here and I'm so glad I did.

Next time you see the little lad, tell him I still have trouble m'self.

Much enjoyed.
