“I’ve not found a way to dance
To the backside of the moon
Without getting bled by the edges
I can never quite escape”

On point and the toes bear hard
The weight of slender legs
Poised at the perfect angle
In wait for the music to begin

Another day and sunrise
We begin

Along concrete and soot
There is a gleam
Blood red in wait for later hours
When it like the bruised flesh
Turns an ugly yellow

It’s all in the rhythms
Of the latest tunes
Cranked up body busting vibes
We wait to turn ourselves out on floor
Where we can gyrate the hips and suckle
Honey smiles as we pass the rest

“Does this make my ass look fat?”
after all…if we don’t have our looks
who is going to stare
and in the end we might find two pirouettes
enough to spin us into the popular set
and success of course follow cells phone ring tones
set to annoy even the most erudite among us

Repoussé of strings still waits
To be polished and breakfast comes from
The notes we swallowed

Still the plait of hands across the air

And the moon shines her fading face
Off to the east somewhere
watching me salve the cuts
from another curve around the shadow side

"Still the plait of hands across the air.." You were saying, about grace? I enjoyed this, especially as it was just last night that I carried the telescope out onto the back deck. I do believe I saw you dancing. Bob

Bob..wasn't me dancing sir...I've two left feet and the only rhythm I have is enough to walk..most of the time..without falling down...

and as for grace...my friend... the difference in my stumbling plod of words and the coarse way I present images..is in no measure grace... compared to the way your own words are so precisely formed to leave the reader..feeling as if they were indeed witness to the miracle of creation...

you're kind.... but believe me..I know good..and you sir are one of the best I have ever read...

This is full of beautiful imagery Captain.
I do wish you could stay..
seems you're always passing through.
Thank you for gifting us with your words to ponder.

But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

The mind of a muse,
the air of the song...
the lilt of the tilt...

and please, quit stealing my lines?

Excellent, and thank you...

I'll share my triple antibiotic lotion for those shadowy shallow cuts. The deeper ones that glare require a more intense complete healing treatment. good to read/feel you again.

Ooh, yay.I'm so excited... see, I hardly ever make it in here anymore, and the few times that I do, I seldom see your name. It's great to read you again, sir.

Loved this entire thing, and especially those lines at the end. You really are an artist.

The imagery in this is impeccable.
I'll keep it for seconds later.

Interesting, this one.  Starts off with the elegance of the moon, but a tinge of pain with “getting bled by the edges” … then dips back to the dance, again to the bruises…  Some bold remarks in this poem, reflecting the nature of love in its splendor and shadows..  goes well with the theme of an “eclipse”…. Of the heart, of the moon, of the dance.  Sorry for the ramble, but working through the thoughts and enjoying the poem.
