Encompassed within this journey,
one barricade after the other
rose up, eventually broke down
and was given over to You.

Each one distinctively engraved
with words as they were Given.
So happy to be freed I left the
weighty verbiage hurriedly behind.

And now though no barrier is evident
I am stopped, with plenty of time to comprehend
the reason behind this lack of
forward movement.

Looking back shows me that altogether
the victories however hard won or short-lived,
now add up to who I am and
where I am headed.

To mark all that was left behind and point
toward all that is to come, my Lord I thank You,
my millstones You have fashioned into a
milestone of thankful remembrances.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul
