And When She Wakes

The sunshine peeks through slatted blinds.
While eyes deceive, the empty finds
A melody of thoughts before,
When darkness held the more of more.
The quiet peace, the pillows hold
Left imprints there, in satin fold.
To lift the head, to raise the day
In anchored thought of interplay.
So tossed the weight, in warmth to rise,
A smile to greet the lines of, traced.
In mirrored view those hazeled eyes
Serenity, this day embraced.
Studying of the face before.
Opening of the once closed door.
Allowing touch to heal the pain
Trusting in the feel again.
Forgotten dreams, tomorrow's here
When night returns and time is near.
In silence, words extend to you
Of when she wakes to thoughts of two...
