Out of darkness.
In the first
pale
reaching hour
of cogito ergo sum,
I am the slumbering god.

My breath,
the envy of all who are dead,
fills the air with sighs.

My head
rests against a mountain crest;
legs and arms
flung out over pillowing hills.

One of my sides
wakes to feel the cool earth;
another
aloft in the warm wind.

And as I turn, . . .
in pleasure,
again
to being alive,

the day begins
with the opening

of my eye.

I dont know why more people dont comment on your words

I suppose we always work in cartels or discrimination

I wonder the same, Dave...but I am as guilty as others when it comes to replies sometimes...

This is excellent poetry, the subject is covered well and the form is very good...

I will try to comment on more of the poems that I read here in the future..especially the good ones such as this..

Good work, John, I enjoyed this poem.....

But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul
