She is only 15. One of her parents is a drug user. Poor family "ghetto child", she calls herself. khalifa wrote a poem about -dread- at school. Dread not about -school-, but about what new horror will hit her at home. I noted: "this poem will help other young people stranded in dysfunctional families. Your poem gives them perspective that they are not alone." That last statement gives the key point for this poem to uplift khalifa. ------ -=khalifa=- Greening twig of womanhood bends to growing gales guiding tears and hope to earth khalifa is a saving grace- she pens her heart for others to show that grief in deadly homes is not unique, is not alone Blooming words of hope and love this girl a woman, wise old-young gives means for other youths to live; they are unique but not alone! khalifa, how is it you give such voice? Reaching out to allay pains none are alone within your sound you give them hope; a whisper You, they, we, together in song In rain is song Khalifa === |
