Polished by wear
over the passage of time
sharp edges are worn and   refined
by the cutting knife
of passing rage

wearing away     the harsh
of rough
because the smoothest
of smooth
         is never enough.

It winds in
the in between
     and up,
                then down;
until the perfection
of polish is found.

But, perfection?
Tis not meant to be
look closer,
you can still see;

although perhaps faded
are images marred
   displayed proudly
      the adornment of scars.

I really want to care,
I want to feel something,
let me dig a little deeper
nah, still nothing~
my give a DAMN is busted. Jodee

A thought provoking, profound poem, dear Donna.

Some scars are difficult to erase, but I think we should learn to be aware of our (and of others') original perfection, so that we may shine.

Your smiling eyes speaking of your beautiful soul are a clear example of this.

Love and hugs.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul
