She is 22, is a deaf person, is administrator at another poetry board.
She is a fine poet and a nurturer of other poets.  I like Luna.
What better gift for a friend than to make a poem specifically addressing what that friend does for you and others?

Punctuation is not really needed here, so I omit punctuation (a personal choice) and let the reader see how spareness may possibly aid a small poem.

A word is split and hyphenated so it can be read in three senses, all of which apply

As for the picture?  Well, her family calls her a "luna moth". I made this luna-moth poem before knowing that fact.

imageshack.us hosts pictures free of charge and does not require registration.  crits are always welcome.  I put things like this up because a) I like the recipient and b) to give you a possibly fresh idea for making lasting gifts to friends: the personal verse.

Luna helps us at her board by wise and gentle commentary.
Her commentaries are, therefore, the focus of this poem

Luna flying silent moth
flying to the lights light self
alight for us upon our frames
in our im-potent-ial fires

Luna flying speaking writing
hunting sparks within our verses
sensing well our nascent embers

Luna please do land again
fan us warmer with your wings

the greater thought here in placing this little thing
is to seed you folks to make some verses for your friends.
It's nice for all concerned because both giver and recipient gain confidence and serenity.

Very much enjoyed...nicely done.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul

"She must be quite a person."

You all are, actually.  The illustration is applicable to you all.

Now, who will be next to make a personal verse?

I'll install a couple more of mine, made for poets I met at other boards.  Just for ideas, more than for "showing".

Obviously, these personal verses work their best socializing effect when the readers know both parties concerned.

thank you very much

see, we make a poem for some friend and in result everybody wins. Not only the poet or the poet's  friend, but everyone who knows the recipient gets a good feeling.

I have more of this genre. All were made in the past few months.  I'll install more poet tributes in time because this is my favorite object in poetry; to make others feel good.
You folks can do this sort of nice action, too.

It is a a new age of instant intercommunication between poets.  All one needs to make a poetverse is a screen name plus some aspect of the person's character on which to center the poem.

Home-spun art with a nuturing and healing purpose and -you-, too,  win every time

cheers,
reid
