For a friend disallusioned with our country, a square peg in a round hole...he just does not quite fit in...

How far has
England fallen to?
Lives scarred irreparably,
dragged into black
slimed gutters stinking.
Vicious attitudes seeping
to underground drains.
Stygian gloom of
maggot and infested
worthless people, addled
with evil habits.
Can we climb
from the trap
we are in?
bring back the
honour to a
country fallen to
darkest gloaming hades.

Love comforteth like sunshine after rain. (William Shakespeare.)

You could have put the name of just about any country in that first line. Vicious attitudes abound worldwide, I'm afraid.
