A jagged edge
across the chest
scissors surgical
unless
an artery was cut
we'll see
"suction, nurse! The hemostats"
did I say please?
and wipe the sweat
from off my brow
cause I can't see
with all this damned regret
believe
and I'll clip the clamp of it,
as I breathe more easily
whispering
"some suction please"
the wound's in need of suturing
"suction, dammit, damn you-BREATHE"
as I grip the disbelief
of the loss of you
in beads
collecting on the brow of grief...

why can't miracles be mine
to share
like petals of the rose
tossed about so easily
like incense rocking
by the priest
screaming for your soul?

Tell him
that I loved you more
Tell him
once upon we swore
that God was not a pressing board
begging our concede

we bleed

like the forehead under thorn
a crowning of the all we've sworn
sisters three and happiness
and garlands rape the chalices
sniffing at the oils we wore

dancing in the green of field

laughing at the storms.

Tell him that I loved you more.

''Tell him
that i loved you more

May your sister be the butterfly you see on that beautiful rose to let you know she is there for you and is looking over you.

K -

You have written such an amazingly strong piece here. I will not say that I completely understand what you're going through, but I can only imagine. Again, I am sorry for your loss, and I would like to keep this poem in my library.

Karen, your hurt brings back that time of my special loved ones who have departed.  It wasn't always pretty, but the "living" was. Your raw emotion is perfectly scored.  Just wanted you to know, I'm thinking of you...

I can only imagine how hard it was to write this.  Your words tear at the fabric of denial in all of us..."it won't happen to me"...but of course it does and it will.

no regrets.  As long as they know we loved them with everything that we had.

love ya lady.

too bad life does not provide shock absorbers but then how could we learn how properly to navigate our way through it?
