Out Making Anticlines

Waiting

I ravel.
Time and
distance
hook little
threads of
lonely
out of
my soul’s
garment.
They curl
and fall,
litter the
floor
of my
being,
softly drift
into the
place in me
that seeks
a time when
swirl and boil
of world
slows
for us
to just
be.

Most of us would think of such a state as unraveling... making your twist on the purgatory of a lonely wait even more powerful. Superb write!

Wouldn't it be nice if, like the merry-go-round, time had a lever that we could stop with will.  On no, now I'm going to have the lyrics going through my head 'til morning:  What goes up must come down; spinning wheel has to go round--try to catch a painted pony ...

As always, you leave me thinking.
