Rainbows!

I maybe still can touch
upon your furrowed brow
and smooth what yet cannot be known
into the corners of your smile
though suffer I the hardship
of a reach in backward mode.

Yea though I
and yea though you
deflect the needs of soul
in past old comfort zones
or in wordy fantasies
the rope of love unlimited
still tries my patient strength
to lift up heavy lidded eyes
to rainbows in the sky.

But rainbows fade and disappear
unless the shutter clicks
and preserves immortally
the essential view of love
blended but distinct
in individuality.

I maybe still can touch
from a point above perception
limited and confined to this reality
and I would hope as such
because dust to dust decreed
for he who can’t believe …
rainbows are made in heaven!
